A Pithy Primer on Parcels and Packages

Background on Parcel Distribution

One of Canada’s fastest growing industry, parcel distribution is an offset of the massive e-commerce market driven by major players like Amazon, Wayfair, Walmart, and more. But all those online orders require distribution facilities…and that’s where Blueforce comes in?

What do we do?

By working with both leading conveyor manufacturers and the subcontractors on the ground level, Blueforce has become a leader in proving skilled, reliable workers for this burgeoning industry. We have supplied conveyor installers, ironworkers, logistics personnel, administrative help, millwrights and more to companies across the country. And we have more work coming…a lot more!

How can you get involved?

Becoming a conveyor installer might be a great next step in your career. The workers who have the easiest time adapting to this industry are mechanically inclined, hardworking, and willing to learn. Those with millwright experience can usually make an easy transition, but many of our site leads and most reliable performers were carpenters, assemblers, or welders before they switch to conveyor installations, If you know your way around a socket set, can read blueprints, and work hard on strict deadlines, then this might just be the industry for you!

What safety tickets and other qualifications are required?

Blueforce is always focused on safety. We have policies in place to protect our workers, and all of our partners are just as safety-conscious. That means all required PPE (harnesses, steel toe boots, hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection and more), and a strict adherence to safety qualifications. For most of our sites, that requires WHIMIS, Working at Heights or Fall Arrest, Aerial Work Platform, and 4 Step Awareness. Certain sites require other tickets, but if you need help obtaining any of those above to get to work, just let us know!
